Internal Medicine & Cardiology Associates joins Southcoast Physicians Group

FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southcoast Health System announced today that Internal Medicine & Cardiology Associates (IMCA) has joined Southcoast Physicians Group, the largest group of physicians in the South Coast region with more than 245 multidisciplinary physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

"We are proud to welcome IMCA to Southcoast's network of physicians. This new partnership provides IMCA patients with additional high-quality options for their health care needs," said Warren "Chip" Wood, MD, President of Southcoast Physicians Group.

As part of Southcoast Health System, IMCA and its 13 physicians will broaden their range of affiliations throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, allowing them to offer more choices and more coordinated care.

"Our partnership with Southcoast Health System allows us to expand and enhance the primary care and cardiac care services and technologies we offer to our patients," said internist Karl Zuzarte, MD. "Our physicians will continue to meet all of our patients' primary and cardiac health care needs in the same convenient office locations. Our coverage at our offices, clinics and hospitals will not change."

IMCA's practice includes five cardiologists: M. Wajid Baig, MD, FACC; Mark Gabry, MD, FACC; Jarvis Lambert, MD, FACC; Michael Meuth, MD, FACC, and Philip Sabra, MD, FACC. IMCA's five internal medicine physicians are: Miguel Brillantes, MD; Jason Diogo, MD; Diane Patrick, MD; Angela Simpson, MD; Shobita Sundar, MD, and Karl Zuzarte, MD. IMCA's three family practice physicians are Scott Lauermann, MD; Jane Li, MD, and Kenneth Piva, MD. IMCA also includes one nurse practitioner, Mark Richard.

"Our decision to partner with Southcoast demonstrates our eagerness to continue to deliver the highest quality of care and to offer more options for our patients, our first priority," said cardiologist Mark Gabry, MD, FACC.
