Robert McGowen, MD, MScPH, joins Southcoast Physicians Group

WAREHAM, Mass. — Southcoast Health System has announced that internal medicine physician Robert McGowen, MD, MScPh, has joined Southcoast Physicians Group as the Chief of Primary Care Services for the Wareham Region.

In addition to his role as Chief of Primary Care Services for the Wareham Region, Dr. McGowen will also have a clinical role, practicing internal medicine at Southcoast Health System at Rosebrook, 100 Rosebrook Way, Suite 200, in Wareham. Southcoast Health System at Rosebrook is a full-service medical practice location that brings together more than 20 primary care and specialty physicians, the Southcoast Center for Weight Loss and comprehensive outpatient radiology and laboratory services.

Dr. McGowen received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in Rochester, N.Y. He also received a master of science in public health from Harvard University in Boston and completed his internal medicine residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. McGowen's interests include the management of acute and chronic medical conditions as well as preventive care. In addition to his clinical activities, he has experience in physician practice management, health care quality improvement and implementation of electronic medical records.
