John C. Dorn, MA, PsyD, joins Southcoast Physicians Group

DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Southcoast Health System has announced that neuropsychologist John Dorn, MA, PsyD, has joined Southcoast Physician Group. Dr. Dorn's clinical practice focuses on the diagnostic testing and consultation of a variety of psychological and neuropsychological syndromes and disorders in children, adults and geriatrics.

His practice is located at the Southcoast Brain & Spine Center, 480 Hawthorn Street in Dartmouth. The Southcoast Brain & Spine Center is a regional center that provides a comprehensive delivery of care for patients with neurological brain and spine disorders through surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Physician specialists in neurology, neurosurgery and physiatry collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, psychologists, chiropractors and nurses to offer the most advanced treatments and care available for neurological, brain and spine disorders.

Dr. Dorn earned his master's degree in clinical psychology from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., and doctorate from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Wheeling, Ill. He trained and conducted research at the University of Chicago Biological Psychiatry Program at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute in Chicago and completed an internship at Parkwood Hospital in New Bedford.

As a trained sports psychologist, Dr. Dorn has focused on concussions and the psychological and neuropsychological factors impacting athletic performance.
