Jack Caynon named Senior Vice President & Legal Counsel for Southcoast Health System

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Southcoast Health System has named Jack Caynon, Esq., as Senior Vice President & Legal Counsel. In his new role, Caynon is responsible for managing Southcoast's legal affairs as well as the Audit and Corporate Compliance departments. He will develop and approve contracts, manage the use of Southcoast's external legal service providers, serve as the liaison to regulatory agencies and provide counsel on all legal matters.

Before joining Southcoast, Caynon was Vice President & General Counsel at Salem Health System in Salem, Ore. He previously held similar positions at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Va., and Roper Care Alliance in Charleston, S.C.

Caynon holds a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School in New Haven, Conn., and a Bachelor of Arts in Management Studies from the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Md. He is currently a member of the bars in the states of Connecticut, South Carolina, Virginia and Oregon.

Caynon resides in North Dartmouth with his wife, Carla, and their two children.
