Piyali Datta, MD, joins Southcoast Physicians Group

WAREHAM, Mass. — Southcoast Health System has announced that primary care physician Piyali Datta, MD, has joined Southcoast Physicians Group and will begin seeing patients in Wareham on April 1.

Dr. Datta's practice is located at Southcoast Health System at Rosebrook, 100 Rosebrook Way, Suite 200, in Wareham. Southcoast Health System at Rosebrook is a full-service medical practice location that brings together 18 primary care and specialty physicians, the Southcoast Center for Weight Loss and comprehensive outpatient radiology and laboratory services. Dr. Datta is currently accepting new patients.

Dr. Datta earned her bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degrees from the University of Calcutta in India, where she also completed her post-graduate training in pediatrics. She completed a residency in internal medicine at St. John Episcopal Hospital/State University of New York at Downstate in Far Rockaway, N.Y.

Before joining Southcoast, Dr. Datta worked with outpatient group practices affiliated with UMass Memorial Health Care and Cape Cod Healthcare. She has also served as an instructor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester.

Dr. Datta is board certified in internal medicine. She is also fluent in Hindi and Bengali.
