Southcoast Hospitals welcome Leap Year babies


NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Southcoast Hospitals welcomed five Leap Year babies as of 5 p.m. today. Four babies were born at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River and one at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.

The first Leap Year baby born in the South Coast region arrived at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River at 5:50 a.m. on February 29, 2012.

Rebecca and Eric Waite, of Fall River, welcomed a baby boy, Warren James Joseph Waite, weighing eight pounds, seven ounces and measuring 21.5 inches long. This is the couple's first child.

A baby girl, Jayda Whitson, was born at 6:08 a.m., to Nicole Levesque and William Whitson of Fall River. Jayda weighed seven pounds, one ounce and was 19 inches long. She is the couple's first child.

Baby girl, Lily Eden King, was born at 2:12 p.m. to Rachel and Michael King of Raynham. Lily weighed seven pounds, two ounces and was 19-1/2 inches long. She is the couple's second child.

A baby boy, Cameron Daniel James, was born at 6:20 p.m., to Jenna and Kevin James of Fall River. Cameron weighed seven pounds, one ounce and was 20.5 inches long. She is the couple's second child.

St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford welcomed a baby boy at 7:54 a.m. Baby Finnbarr John Pisarczyk was born to Shannon and John Pisarczyk of New Bedford. Finnbarr weighed five pounds, 13.5 ounces and was 19 inches long. This is the couple's first child.

At the time of this release no Leap Year babies had been born at Tobey Hospital in Wareham.


Charlton Memorial Hospital


Warren James Joseph Waite was born to Rebecca and Eric Waite, of Fall River. He was the first Leap Year baby born on the South Coast.

Baby Finnbarr John Pisarczyk was born to Shannon and John Pisarczyk of New Bedford. Finnbarr was the first Leap Year baby born at St. Luke's Hospital.
