Southcoast's Women's Health Fair to be held on October 3

October is breast cancer awareness month, tour our digital mammography suites


NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Southcoast's annual "Morning of Health for Women" will be held on Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Southcoast Center for Women's Health, 300B Faunce Corner Road, North Dartmouth.

This year Southcoast will be hosting free screenings for endovascular treatment of varicose veins with Salman Bashir, MD. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the Southcoast Wellness Line at 1-800-497-1727.

Free and open to the public, highlights of the free events include:

  • Body by Design
  • Curves of Dartmouth
  • Reiki
  • Fabulous Foundations
  • Acupuncture
  • Hypnotist
  • Massage
  • Reflexology
  • YWCA

The event will feature the following Southcoast experts who will answer your questions about breast health:

  • Patricia Andrade, MD, surgeon, Southcoast.
  • Anne Ruggieri, MD, radiologist, Southcoast.
  • Rose Zolnierz, RN, nurse practitioner from Healthcare for Women.
  • Valerie Tjersland, RT, mammography technologist, Southcoast.
  • Denise Mercier, a breast cancer survivor.

The Southcoast Health Van will provide free screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and bone density.
