WAREHAM, Mass. — Tobey's Baby New Year waited nearly three days before making his 2008 arrival.
Noah Wright Sperry, the son of Benjamin Wright Sperry and Michelle Desrosier of Dartmouth, arrived at 7:03 a.m. on January 3, 2008, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces.
The first New Year's baby to be born in Massachusetts arrived at another Southcoast hospital, Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2008. Baby boy, Maisen Rego, was born to Nicole Cayer and Jeffrey Rego, also of Dartmouth. He weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces.
St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford welcomed its baby New Year at 12:36 a.m. on January 1. Joshua Hunter Clark, the son of Tammy Clark and David Clark of New Bedford checked in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces.
The Southcoast Hospitals New Year's babies will receive gift baskets and gift certificates donated by the St. Luke's & Charlton Auxiliaries and the Tobey Hospital Guild.
