Charlton & St. Luke's welcome New Year's babies; Tobey waits for arrival

FALL RIVER, Mass. — The first New Year's baby to be born in the South Coast region arrived at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2008.

Nicole Cayer and Jeffrey Rego of Dartmouth had a baby boy, Maisen Rego, weighing 9 pounds, 7 ounces. This is the couple's first child.

The first New Year's baby born in New Bedford arrived at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford at 12:36 a.m. on January 1, 2008.

Joshua Hunter Clark, the son of Tammy Clark and David Clark of New Bedford, checked in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces. This is the couple's first child.

As of 5 p.m. on January 2, the New Year's baby had not arrived at Tobey Hospital in Wareham.

The Southcoast Hospitals New Year's babies will receive gift baskets and gift certificates donated by the St. Luke's & Charlton Auxiliaries and the Tobey Hospital Guild.

Charlton Memorial Hospital

Charlton Memorial Hospital: New dad Jeffrey Rego and new mom Nicole Cayer of Dartmouth with their baby boy, Maisen Rego, who was born at 12:01 a.m. at Charlton Memorial Hospital, making him the first New Year's Baby in Massachusetts.

St. Luke's Hospital

St. Luke's Hospital: New mom Tammy Clark of New Bedford with their baby boy, Joshua Hunter Clark, who was born at 12:36 a.m. at St. Luke's Hospital, making him the second New Year's Baby on the South Coast.

Tobey Hospital

Tobey Hospital: New dad Benjamin Wright Sperry and new mom Michelle Desrosiers of Dartmouth with their baby boy, Noah Wright Sperry, who was born at 7:03 a.m. on January 3 at Tobey Hospital. [See related release.]
