Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates joins Southcoast Physician Services

FALL RIVER, Mass. — The physician practice of Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates joined Southcoast Physician Services, part of Southcoast Health System, on March 1.

Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates is an11-member primary and specialty physician practice located at Truesdale Clinic, 1030 President Avenue, Fall River. The practice will now operate as part of Southcoast Health System, which in addition to its three community hospitals includes physician practices, an assisted living facility, home health care and hospice, a wellness center and numerous outpatient medical services.

Ronald B. Goodspeed, MD, MPH, President of Southcoast Hospitals Group, said the addition of Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates to Southcoast complements the health system's mission to serve the community with the best medical providers available while improving the region's access to care and advanced medical services.

The transition will be seamless for patients with no disruption to services, Dr. Berman said.

In addition to Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates, the Truesdale Clinic houses 20 other physician practices comprised of more than 60 physicians, radiology and laboratory services, a pharmacy and a dentist's office. Since it opened in 1914, Truesdale Clinic has been affiliated with Charlton Memorial Hospital, formerly Truesdale Hospital. Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates will continue to practice at its Truesdale Clinic location under the Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates name.

Southcoast Physician Services also includes Borden Medical Associates in Fall River, the practice of Randy Caplan, DO, in Wareham, the practice of Carlos A. Correia, MD, in Fall River, Linden Tree Family Health in Portsmouth, R.I., and Southcoast Neurosurgery in Fall River and New Bedford.
