Southcoast Hospitals presents a free seminar for women

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Southcoast Hospitals will be hosting a free seminar for women in celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness month on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Hawthorne Country Club, 970 Tucker Road, North Dartmouth.

Women are encouraged to attend a morning dedicated to staying healthy. Local health care professionals will demonstrate aromatherapy and essential oils and discuss issues such as urinary incontinence, lymphodema, breast cancer and breast cancer surgery.

Special guest Barbara Allman of the U.S. Postal Service will be on hand to present a reproduction of the breast cancer awareness stamp. There will be raffles and an auction to benefit patient education programs and an assortment of door prizes.

A free continental breakfast will be served. Registration is necessary as space is limited. To register, call the Southcoast Wellness Line at 1-800-497-1727.

Program schedule:

    8:45 to 9:30 a.m. — Patricia Ciccotelli, RTR, CT, Aromatherapy and Essential Oils

    9:30 to 10:15 a.m. — Patty Bernadino, RN, Urinary Incontinence

    10:15 to 11 a.m. — Janet Gillis, PT, Lymphodema and Breast Cancer

    11 to 11:45 a.m. — Patricia Andrade, MD, Breast Cancer Surgery
