FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southcoast Hospitals Group announced today it will open a new satellite physical rehabilitation center at Truesdale Clinic in Fall River. Southcoast Rehabilitation Services at Truesdale will open on Monday, Jan. 24. Entrance to the new location will be located at 263 Stanley Street.

"It has always been a goal to offer a free-standing outpatient rehabilitation center at Truesdale Clinic to compliment the numerous physician practices. This new location will make it more convenient for individuals in need of physical rehabilitative services in the Greater Fall River region," said Jennifer Randall, Director of Southcoast Rehabilitation Services.

The new physical therapy center offers physical therapy services such as manual therapy, high-level balance retraining and vestibular rehab, gait training, therapeutic exercise and thermal and electrical treatments. Emphasis is placed on patient education for self-management and prevention.

Charlton Site Manager of Rehab Services, Sharon Solomon, said patients generally come to physical rehabilitation services through a referral by their physician for evaluation and therapy. "Our team of physical therapy professionals treat a variety of patients including patients recovering from surgery for a knee or hip replacement, disc problems, joint injuries, back and neck pain, and chronic conditions like arthritis or Fibromyalgia," she said.

Southcoast Rehabilitation Services at Truesdale is now accepting appointments by physician referral. Please call 508-679-7445 to schedule an appointment or for more information. Southcoast Rehabilitation accepts most major health insurance. The public will be able to meet the team of professionals, tour the new physical therapy suites and take part in a variety of free screenings during an open house scheduled for March 2, 2005.
