Physician Profiles

When Nada Zaknoun, MD, completed her residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, she knew what she was looking for in a location to set up her practice.

"As a mom, first, and a physician, it was important to me to have a practice in a place where my family can grow," Dr. Zaknoun said.

In the quaint, seaside town of Wareham, Mass., she found what she was looking for — the relaxed atmosphere and safety of small-town living and the opportunity to establish a flourishing practice.

Situated at the head of Buzzards Bay, and at the "gateway" to Cape Cod, Wareham offers 54 miles of coastline including beaches, estuaries, rivers and ponds, which create a subtle contrast to a vibrant, growing community. Yet, despite its growth, the town maintains its warm and friendly environment.

Dr. Zaknoun describes the residents as "welcoming" and her family takes advantage of all that this area has to offer.

The support of Southcoast Hospitals Group was an added bonus. "They really made it possible for me to become part of this great community," she said. "Living and practicing in the area has been a very satisfying experience. I am glad I chose to make the South Coast my home and my work place."
