Hector Derreza, MD
Hector Derreza, MD, Medical Director of Southcoast's Hospitalist Program, played a key role in creating the program for the organization. He is a graduate of the Instituto Potosino in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí. Dr. Derreza completed a surgical-transitional internship and residency in internal medicine at The Miriam Hospital and Brown University in Providence, R.I. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a member of the American College of Physicians, former chair of the Hospitalist Subcommittee of the American College of Physicians (Rhode Island Chapter) and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has served as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Brown University.
Derek Hausladen, MD
Derek Hausladen, MD, is a urologist practicing with Hawthorn Medical Associates in Dartmouth, Mass., and was instrumental in the founding of the Robotic Surgery Program at Southcoast. Dr. Hausladen is a graduate of Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and completed his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed residencies in surgery and urology at the Yale University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologist and the Endourological Society. Dr. Hausladen is certified by the American Board of Urology.
Stacey N. Knox, MD
Stacey N. Knox, MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist practicing with HealthCare for Women Inc. in New Bedford, Mass. She is a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., and received her medical degree from the Marshall University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the American Medical Association and the American Medical Women's Association. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Richard T. Miller, MD
Richard T. Miller, MD, is a thoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and thoracic oncology. A graduate of Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa., Dr. Miller received his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, N.J. He completed a residency in general surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., and a cardiothoracic residency at the University of West Virginia in Morgantown, W.Va. Dr. Miller completed an Advanced Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
Aubrey Okpaku, MD
Aubrey Okpaku, MD, is a neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive brain surgery. Dr. Okpaku is a graduate of Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Council of State Neurological Societies.
Anne Ruggieri, MD
Anne Ruggieri, MD, has been on staff as a Radiologist at Southcoast Hospitals since 1995. She is currently the Chair of the Radiology Department at two Southcoast Hospitals sites, St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham. Dr. Ruggieri received her medical degree from Brown University in Providence, R.I., and completed a Medical Internship at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. Dr. Ruggieri was an Imaging Fellow at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where she also completed her radiology residency. Dr. Ruggieri has been an instrumental part in growing the breast services program at Southcoast Hospitals Group at both St. Luke's and Tobey Hospitals, including the Center for Women's Health.
