Q. What if I have
urge incontinence? What causes this type of incontinence?
A. Urge incontinence occurs when bladder muscles are too active
and contract when they shouldn't. Causes of this condition
include:
- a recent history of urinary tract infections
- nerve or muscle damage, sometimes from childbirth or surgery
- conditions that harm bladder muscles or nerves, such as diabetes,
stroke, and Parkinson's disease
- bladder stones
- bladder cancer.
