A stroke is a sudden disruption in the flow of blood to the brain. The likelihood of stroke can be reduced:
a) by quitting smoking and controlling high blood pressure.
b) by eating a balanced diet—with plenty of fruits and vegetables—and controlling high blood sugar.
c) by managing existing heart disease and keeping anger under control.
d) by all of the above.

Lifestyle choicessuch as exercising regularly, not smoking, and eating a healthy low-fat dietcan help people prevent stroke. So, too, can learning how to “keep your cool.” Research shows that men who frequently express their anger outwardly are twice as likely to have a stroke later in life.
