Help Us Build a Better St. Lukes

St. Luke’s Hospital is the cornerstone of the community — reliable, dependable, always there in a time of need.

St. Luke’s also is unique in that it is the only hospital serving the greater New Bedford area.

“We don’t take that position for granted,” said Ronald B. Goodspeed, MD, MPH, President of Southcoast Hospitals Group. “In fact, because we are the only organization of our kind, we are keenly aware of our responsibility to provide excellent, up-to-the-minute services and compassionate care to everyone who comes through our doors.”

St. Luke’s Hospital is dedicated to improving the health of local families and making sure they get the very best care without having to travel outside of the community. But it needs your help to do it.

“Our expansion project is not only for the community, but by the community,” said Barbara H. Mulville, CFRE, Vice President of External Affairs at Southcoast, of the $32 million project to expand the Emergency Department and add more patient beds. “As a not-for-profit organization, St. Luke’s needs the support of everyone to make it possible. Gifts of every amount will be important to our success.”

Katharine Bullard, whose late husband Dr. John C. Bullard dedicated many years to serving the community at St. Luke’s Hospital, concurred.
“There is no greater need in New Bedford than St. Luke’s Hospital,” she said when agreeing to become the honorary chair for the Campaign for a New St. Luke’s. “Our lives depend on it.”
