Southcoast Makes Quality Data Public

Southcoast Hospitals Group has launched a new Website to report on its own quality data, becoming one of the leaders in the movement to be more transparent about quality and patient safety.

Southcoast’s new Quality & Patient Safety site has nine quality measures that historically have been important to patients or are currently hot topics, such as key infection rates and mortality rates. Other measures will be added in the future.

“Hospital-quality measures are among many factors you should consider when choosing a hospital,” said Jim Rattray, Vice President of Marketing & Public Affairs. “Our Website provides access to the most up-to-date information available.”

The site also provides guidance for how to compare measures and what Southcoast is doing to improve quality.
