Southcoast’s RAPPP Program Receives State Grant Valued at $500,000

Southcoast Hospitals’ Responsible Attitudes toward Pregnancy, Parenting & Prevention (RAPPP) program has received a $542,000 state grant for its youth risk behaviors and teen pregnancy prevention program.

The funding comes from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Family and Community Health as part of the state’s “Science-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention in Select Communities” initiative and will run through 2012.

The monies will be used primarily for education and awareness surrounding the prevention of teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDs and too-early sexual activity among youth ages 10 to 19.
