A recent study suggests that fidgeting, oddly enough, may help promote fitness. Researchers found that fidgeting — especially while standing — helped volunteers burn enough calories to actually lose weight. In the study, standing forms of fidgeting included folding laundry or playing with a pet.

Tae kwon do is a great strength-training workout. A study of teenage tae kwon do students found that after eight weeks, the students increased their strength by 28 percent. They also were able to perform at maximum strength for a much longer period of time.

British Journal of Sports Medicine

Exercise may reduce your risk for pancreatic cancer. More than 160,000 men and women were studied. Researchers found that among people who were overweight, regular exercise — such as walking or hiking — was linked to a lower risk of this cancer.
