Positive JCAHO Surveys Prove Staff Dedication
The results of a recent survey by the Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations proved that quality
services and patient care are the topmost priorities for employees
at Southcoast Hospitals Group.
"All of our hospitals had excellent reviews, thanks to
the continued hard work of employees throughout the organization,"
said Ronald B. Goodspeed, MD, MPH, President of Southcoast Hospitals
Group. "Every one of our hospitals scored above the national
average for the survey."
An independent, non-profit organization, the Joint Commission
evaluates and accredits nearly 18,000 healthcare organizations
and programs in the United States. JCAHO accreditation enhances
an organization's performance and is recognized nationwide as
a "symbol of quality."
"The surveyors were very impressed with the quality of
care being provided, our many innovative programs, our progress
on new standards relative to pain management and patient safety,"
Goodspeed said. "It was clear to them that quality and caring
are our top priorities."
