Ways of Giving to Southcoust Hospitals

Whether you choose to support Tobey, St. Luke's or Charlton Memorial Hospital, the opportunities for giving are numerous . . . and all are important. Here is a brief explanation of the ways you, our donors, can assure that your community hospital remains a strong and pioneering institution.

Annual Giving
Gifts to the Annual Fund support your hospital's current operating needs. Donors can make unrestricted or restricted gifts, which support specific clinical priorities like cancer, cardiology and women's health.

Planned Giving
Planned gifts, which include bequests and Life Income Fund Gifts, allow donors to make significant contributions to their hospital while achieving personal financial goals.

Bequests offer donors a flexible way to provide charitable gifts from their estate. The gifts may be cash, a specific asset or a percentage of the estate.

Life Income Fund Gifts provide donors or their designated beneficiaries income for life while reducing the donor's estate and income taxes. By making gifts of appreciated assets, donors also may avoid or delay capital gains tax.

Endowment Gifts
A donor who wants to support a specific project and/or hospital can endow a fund. A specific/named fund can be established with a gift of $25,000 or more.

Capital Donations
Capital contributions support building construction or renovation and the purchase of new equipment.

All these gifts help provide our patients and their families with comfortable, modern surroundings and give our caregivers efficient facilities to support their work.
