Free Stroke Education Programs

Southcoast Hospitals will once again present a series of free programs aimed at educating the community on the risk, prevention and symptoms of stroke. Programs will be in October in the Fall River, New Bedford and Wareham areas and will include free screenings for total cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure. There will also be free vascular screenings.

Southcoast stroke specialists will present information on:

• Why it’s important to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and seek prompt treatment.
• How family members can help minimize the effects of stroke by acting FAST.
• New treatments for stroke and rehabilitation after stroke.
