In its more than 60 years of existence, Tobey has built a legacy of health care for the community. It is now time for us to preserve that legacy for the future.

Margie Baldwin, left, and Margot Arms look over plans for the Tobey Hospital Construction.

It is uncommon for a community hospital the size of Tobey to have the stature the institution enjoys. Tobey provides the community with a unique combination of state-of-the-art technology and small town intimacy. Our neighbors who work at Tobey - doctors, nurses and staff - are as invested in the well-being of the community and the hospital as we are.

Both of us have lived in and around Wareham for more than 20 years, raised our children here and have had the privilege of serving the community in many different ways. We can think of no better way to continue our support than to lead The Campaign for Tobey: A Legacy of Community Support.

Those who know Tobey best think of the hospital as a jewel in the crown of Southcoast Hospitals Group - with its Ian Baldwin Emergency Department and the Makepeace Center for Women & Families. Now, Tobey requires other much-needed renovations to its operating rooms to continue its tradition of providing vital services to the community.

Tobey Hospital's legacy is built upon the community's devotion to sustaining excellent, local health care. It is time for us to preserve that legacy for our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We hope you will join us with your support.
