Sinus relief seminar

St. Luke's Hospital will host a free community seminar on Wednesday, April 10, on new innovations in sinus surgery featuring Balloon Sinuplasty™, a minimally invasive procedure that opens sinus passages relieving pain and pressure associated with chronic sinusitis. The seminar will be presented by otolaryngologist Wendy B.R. Stern, MD, a surgeon who specializes in ear, nose and throat disorders.

Southcoast is participating in a healthy living expo on Saturday, April 27, from noon to 4 p.m. at the New Bedford YMCA, 25 So. Water Street. Free family fun and healthy activities, including express demo group exercise classes, swimming lessons, children's activities and games, swimming, healthy cooking demonstrations, health screenings and much more!

Golf season is right around the corner. Join us at The Kittansett Club for the Tobey Hospital Golf Invitational on Thursday, May 16 to raise the standard of care even higher with the proceeds being used to purchase state-of-the-art critical care unit beds.

Cancer Care at Southcoast: Top 100 in U.S.!

Becker's Hospital Review has named Southcoast among the 100 hospitals and health systems in the U.S. with great oncology programs.

The Becker's Hospital Review list recognizes 100 hospitals across the country that serve as leaders in cancer research, prevention, treatment and education. The Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care was among only four Massachusetts hospitals to make the list.

According to Becker's: "The multi-faceted nature of cancer makes it a difficult disease to combat. However, hospitals and health systems across the nation are far from giving up, as this list highlights hospitals at the forefront of the fight against cancer. These health systems, hospitals and affiliated cancer centers offer multidisciplinary and patient-centered care in addition to the latest therapies and technologies. In addition to robust patient care, each organization strives to prevent and treat all forms of cancer through cutting-edge clinical innovation and research."

Urology Inc. has joined Southcoast Physicians Group, one of the largest networks of primary and specialty care physicians in the region.

As part of its merger into Southcoast Physicians Group, Urology Inc. is now recognized as Southcoast Urology.

Diabetes program opens new Wareham site

Southcoast Diabetes Management Program has relocated its Wareham office from Tobey Hospital to Southcoast Health System at Rosebrook, 100 Rosebrook Way in Wareham.

Diabetes management services are now available to patients at the new Rosebrook location.

The Southcoast Diabetes Management Program is an American Diabetes Association-certified program that offers a comprehensive series of educational sessions designed to give adults and their families the knowledge to live healthy lives with diabetes. Education is offered in small group sessions or on an individual basis.

The program is staffed by a team of certified diabetes educators that includes both nurses and dietitians who are committed to helping patients live a healthier life.
