Stroke awareness program

Southcoast Hospitals presents a stroke awareness programs on Tuesday, October 28, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Century House, 107 South Main Street in Acushnet.

The program, presented by John Stamouilis, MD, Stroke Director at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, is aimed at educating the community on the risk, prevention and symptoms of stroke. To register, call 1-800-497-1727 or register at the door.

Southcoast is offering a free prostate cancer awareness program and screenings on Wednesday, October 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Southcoast Oncology Center, 480 Hawthorne St. in Dartmouth. Appointments required by calling 508-979-5858 Ext. 4001.

Schedule your mammogram and breakfast is on us

Southcoast Hospitals is offering a complimentary breakfast at seven of its mammography locations on Monday, October 20, between 6 and 9 a.m.

Bagels, muffins, cider, fresh fruit, coffee and tea, along with a seasonal mum plant, will be offered to each patient who schedules an appointment. Mammograms can be scheduled by calling 1-800-276-0103. A physician referral is required to schedule a mammogram.

Southcoast offers 100 percent digital mammography at all of our locations.
