The New St. Luke's Hospital was officially dedicated on July 16.
U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., (pictured at right), along with state Sen. Mark C.W. Montigny, New Bedford Mayor Scott Lang and City Councilor Jane Gonsalves were on hand to praise the completion of the three-year, $33 million renovation project.
"The new ER will improve the hospital's ability to continue providing New Bedford and the surrounding communities with high-quality medical care," Rep. Frank said.
The project includes an expanded Emergency Department, more patient rooms, an additional cardiac catheterization laboratory and a new amphitheatre for medical education.
