The St. Luke's Hospital Emergency Department entrance on Page Street re-opens on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at 7 a.m.
The opening of the new St. Luke's Emergency Department entrance marks the halfway point of the hospital's expansion project — the first step in delivering on our promise to bring you the very best medical care and the most caring, friendly service anywhere.
Inside you will find 19 new private treatment bays in a modern ED design that will increase efficiency of care and comfort for patients and their families. We're renovating the rest of the ED in stages to minimize the disruption in care.
While the beautiful, new ED entrance may give the impression that work is complete, there is much more to do. Construction continues inside the hospital along with efforts to fund the construction — all made possible with your generous support.
Say hello to your new St. Luke's — we're halfway done!
RAPPP Male Conference aims to empower teens
Southcoast's RAPPP Program (Responsible Attitudes toward Pregnancy, Parenting & Prevention) will hold its Annual Male Conference on Wednesday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Taunton Holiday Inn.
RAPPP's Male Conference is designed to educate and empower adolescent males to believe they have a say in how their lives will turn out.
Some 200 adolescent males aged 14 to 18 representing high schools throughout the region attend this noted conference annually. Many upstanding and culturally diverse male role models from the community volunteer their time and effort in planning, serving as facilitators and presenting various workshops.
This year's event is hosted by Ken Bell, sports director of ABC6 TV in Providence, and features Byron Hurt, creator of the award winning documentary, "Beyond Beats and Rhymes: Masculinity in Hip-Hop Culture."
