Women and heart disease

Most women are not aware that heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death for women.

In fact, heart disease kills more women each year than all cancers combined. And when women have a heart attack, they are almost twice as likely as men to die from it.

Southcoast has worked hard — with our open heart surgery and angioplasty programs and now our new arrhythmia service — to bring the very latest treatments to the South Coast. And we are working hard, through our strong links with the American Heart Association and our own outreach efforts, to focus more on prevention.

Southcoast is proud to be part of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign. Get our heart disease tip card that's just for women.

Gasping for sleep?

If someone's snoring is keeping you up all night, we'll help you turn your Snorus Interruptus into Sleepus Allnightus.

Snoring, gasping and choking while sleeping can be signs of a serious health problem. In fact, there are almost 200 medical reasons why you might be losing sleep.

The experts at the Southcoast Sleep Lab and Sleep Clinic can help. We can diagnose — and treat — your sleep problem.
