Stress & Complementary Therapies

No one likes stress. The word "stress" has a very negative connotation. People are stressed out, we have too much stress and we need to relax to get rid of stress.

Sometimes it feels as if our brains are stretching from the day-to-day stress that fills our lives. But did you know that stress has a much more serious effect on your health?

Stress causes, among other things, high blood pressure, eczema, migraines, ulcers, back problems and depression. Stress also causes anxiety about being sick and recovering from an illness.

Unfortunately, stress is a problem that isn't easily cured by medication - and the usual treatment for stress is to take some time off. But stress can even be caused by just thinking about when to take the time off, where to go when you get the time off, what is going to happen while you are away from work.

Complementary therapies can help deal directly with stress. Some of these treatments date back as far as the ancient Egyptians. So for milleniums, people have used complementary therapies to ease stress, help healing and improve their lives.
